How To

Here are some explanatory videos to help get you started as a math online major:
1. ECCE orientation (12 min., February 09) Focuses on what ECCE's are and how to find them. Some of the pages shown have changed a little since February, so this video will need to be redone, but it's still generally accurate.

2. First classes (14 min., September 09) Similar to the first orientation, but deals with required classes in general-- not so much what ECCE's are-- and how to find them in the schedule.

Links and News

The university sends out its regular announcements via the student email distribution list, but there are other items that I find on occasion which I want to draw the attention of the math majors to.

Graduates' Corner

Have you transferred to a graduate school? Gotten a new job or promotion? Been active in the Alumni Association? Moved or travelled? Take a minute and let us know what's new with your life after UIS math. Also, this blog has a slideshow feature for photos at the bottom; if any of you (students or graduates) have a current one of yourself that you'd like me to incorporate, email it to snyder.john@uis.edu

General

Use this area to add comments which don't fit in with any other posted topic, to suggest a topic, or to just say hi to the other math students.

Rules of the Blog

1. This is a publicly viewable blog, so be careful with your sensitive information. You probably wouldn't want to post a home address or phone number in a comment here.
2. This page is designed to assist math majors in getting started in their studies and connect with others. If non-math majors visit here, that's ok, but this is not a place for people to post commercial links. Let me know if you see something inappropriate.
3. Also not welcome: vulgarity, or slurs against other people because of race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
